What are injectable treatments:
Dr Kamel uses an injectable muscle relaxant to treat a wide range of neurological conditions. It is the same anti-wrinkle agent used in cosmetic clinics. Depending on the condition treated, the effect lasts for between 3-4 months.
The following conditions attract both a Medicare rebate for injections and are accessible under the PBS (when injected by a neurologist)
Axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating)
Cervical dystonia
Blepharospasm
Hemifacial spasm
Chronic migraine (under certain criteria)
Spasticity
